As you know, fuel prices are sky high. I am curious to note whether the GIAC chip will improve or kill petrol usage!?

it's supposed to increase gas mileage iirc, but because you'll drive much more aggressively, you'll probably see a slight loss

 

Something I noticed recently, I got the giac chip recently, and I think my car is running a bit rich since the smell of the fuel is pretty strong. Is this normal?

 

nope, that's not normal...if youre running the stock dv, it may be bad, which i think would probably cause a rich a/f mixture...you can get the 710N dv from a dealership for 40 bucks or so...if you want to do more mods down the line besides just a chip, you might want to consider a forged 007 or bailey dv...there are others as well

 

I do have the 710N DV.

 

how many miles are on your car? it may be your o2 sensors starting to go bad..the post-cat o2 sensors will also cause a bad a/f mixture
