Hi all,

Just bought a used Audi, a 2003 registered A4 1.8T. It has some surface scratches on various areas, nothing that I can't hide with a spray or touch up stick I suspect. Problem is finding which 'black' it is...brilliant black, cosmo black, just black....

I went to the local Halfords and asked them to help me find the manufacturers colour code (I'm more or less clueless about my Audi at the moment as the owners manual is not yet in my posession) and all they could find was "Type BE". Apparently they need more than that to match the colour.

Anybody know how or where I find out the specific colour of black it is?

there should be a color code sticker in your trunk around the spare tire

it should look like this

in panda's pic, the top left of the circle (the circle is actually cutting it off) it says LY7 or somethign to that effect... I think it's 4 digits. THAT is your colour code.
