View Full Version : Turbo on 2.8? 1998_A4_2.8 11-15-2005, 06:48 PM Has any one ever done it? Thanks. fenderstrat1184 11-15-2005, 06:56 PM can't turbo the 2.8... or at least ive never heard of that ever being done. you can supercharge one.. pestuning.com Grouse 11-15-2005, 09:46 PM Standalone units Bi turbo's have been done for both the 30v 2.8 and 30v 3.0. THe 2.8 was a passat custom job with no numbers show, the 3.0 was an 02 audi with 465 chp and k04's if i remember correctly. the cost to get it done from a shop was about 11 grand on the passat. luvin_the_rings 11-15-2005, 09:50 PM u could do it, it'd be a custom job though... there'd be no kits that you could buy... personally, i think it'd be sweet: bigger injectors k04's fmic and u'd have to take it to a dyno to tune it, not sure, but u might need a standalone to do it... and i dont know if the internals would be up to it.. some new rods and pistons might be in order. RomeA4 11-16-2005, 01:44 AM It is possible to do single turbo on a V6, My uncle has a 3000gt VR4 that he turns to single turbo by cutomizing him and his mechanics say that somehow it is more stronger..Dont scream at me...they did it denisdee 11-16-2005, 04:08 PM Talking about superchargers, anyone selling their PES G2 kit? a4quattro16 01-02-2006, 09:48 PM im being serious about turbocharging my 12v 2.8...my fathers a mechanic and has done alot of custom turbo kits..i believe that if i go with turbocharging it, i will need bigger injectors and more stuff, where can i get injectors for the 2.8? also what else would i need to complete the job. kakarot 01-02-2006, 11:33 PM its been done. it requires coustum exaust manifolds, as I remember. I design a SC with more shazam to it that PES does. As I feel the V6 needes more power at the begining. thats why I would go with SC. the turbos will definatly give the power that you would like. The SC will take some off, but will give a nice steady increase in power. The turbo sill spike a lot if you go with K04 on V6. each turbo will have to work on 1.4 or 1.5 L so K04 gives power for 2.0L. I would go with small turbo, as small as posible like GT20 GT25tops or K03 tops. but thats just me. So deside :) a4quattro16 01-03-2006, 12:19 AM i was planning on making a single turbo setup..would that be ok? kakarot 01-03-2006, 08:28 PM Not on Quatro. Unless you meaning only on one manifold, and thats would be bad. only FWD audies V6 can have single turbo, thats what I tought on doing, but now I will go with SC. a4quattro16 01-04-2006, 12:04 AM what difference does it make if its quattro? what im planning to do is put 1 small turbo on the left exhaust manifold where the stock intake belongs, and leave the other side manifold stock..would that be bad? kakarot 01-05-2006, 10:21 PM bad idea, you need equality between banks (left = right engine). the diference between FWD and AWD audies is that tranny ends in FWD while in AWD tranny continues and there is a bunch of parts at the end of the tranny. It is possibele to have single turbo on V6 but only when both banks are working together, meaning both manifolds join together and spin turbo, creating equal back pressure in the heads. it is possible only on FWD becouse you can mount and fead the turbo after the tranny. Got it? the principle is very easy, also it creates slick sleeper. :D a4quattro16 01-07-2006, 02:41 AM yes sir, i understand it now..thanks alot for your help ORIGINAL: kakarot bad idea, you need equality between banks (left = right engine). the diference between FWD and AWD audies is that tranny ends in FWD while in AWD tranny continues and there is a bunch of parts at the end of the tranny.
