How to tell timing belt been done?
Hey guys i seem to be stuck looking at a few cars... the problem is nobody seems to have records of the Timing belt being done.
They think it was done or are not sure so they don't want to guarentee anything. What is the best way to tell if a timing belt is done w/o having any records?
Thanks.

You can take off the cam gear covers and take a look at it. Even then its hard to tell if it was done. You can inspect the belt for wear and cracking thou.
If it was done at a dealership, the dealership can access records by vin. They would be able to tell you if it was done at a dealership.

Maybe but its not that hard all they have to do is type in the vin and look for the repair code. It would take maybe five min and if they were nice about it you may even take your car there for service.
