Default oil filters

ok, so I know we just had a HUGE post about different motor oils, so I don't want to get into that, but I've got an oil change coming up, and wanted to know what filter people use? The two names I've heard the most are Mann and Bosch. Do you guys think is really makes a difference?

Also, are there specific sites that you use to get the filters, or will a Pep boys do?

thanks!

When it comes to something like oil filters, you aren't really going to see that much difference in terms of a price from the net to pep boys. Especially when you take shipping into account. But if you do come across a site to get better deals on that kind of stuff let me know. I always love good deal!

Either are good filters - Mann for the 4 cylinder engines and Bosch for V6 engines.

If Pep Boys can get it for you, sure. They don't stock 'em regularly though. I know Autozone has Bosch in stock usually - or they get them quickly/easily.

Edit: They should be in the $11 - $13 range.

Default oil filters - MOVED

I'm going to move this to the General Audi Forums Chat so that everyone can see this thread. It seems as though it would be applicable to all.

EDIT: There will be a link that I will leave here in this forum.

I've used both and they were fine. Bosch is typically what the dealer uses, at least here. As long as you are doing regular changes, I don't think it really makes much of a difference.

We've done some research in the 12V forum at audiworld. The consensus is to use the factory filters from Audi.

And on a side note, the Man air filters are superior than aftermarket (even K&N).

Good to know. I guess I'll be switching back. What info did your research yield?
