New here - M3 or Audi TT?
I am deciding on getting an 96-97 4-door M3 or an Audi TT. I know the M3 is the true sports car of the two but while the M3 looks nice, the design is a little dated compared to the Audi. To me the TT's design is classic and seems to be a much more fun to drive. However, I have been searching several forums and it seems like the TTs weak link is the timing belt. I can live with that and I may even attempt to change it out myself. However, I also read somewhere that the 1.8T (specifically on the A4) has a design flaw on the tensioner. Is this true? And if it is, is there a newer designed tensioner available? Also most M3's out there in my price range will have higher miles than a similarly priced TT. I found a 2000 TT near my area for $13999 with a tick below 60K miles:

I carfaxed this and it came out ok. Is this a good deal? I also realize that if I ever buy this car, being at 59K miles, the belt would probably break on me the moment I drive it home. How much would it cost with labor and parts to get the timing belt, tensioner, and related pieces cost?
Thanks!
