96' 2.8q - How to unlock, locked rear door????
Right now i have a real 3-door ride.
The rear right door will not unlock for anything. I can see some movement in the door **** inside when pressing either the unlock button in the car or use the key in the door. I assume it is actuated by vacuum. I tried to assist the doorknow by pulling, but it will not move! How do i get to the mechanism when i can't open the door?????
any help is greatly appreciated!!!
I love this forum!!!

when you say "I can see some movement in the door **** inside when pressing either the unlock button in the car or use the key in the door"
do you mean the actualy door handle or the little *** that sticks out the top of the door?
I can not manualy unlock my door by pulling the little *** on the back door in my car...yes its actuated by vacuum... Try useing some pliers to pull it up but be carefull not to anialate it completely

I can't remember, is there any way to remove the door panel without having the door open? I know you can remove the handle with a few screws, then there is another screw underneath the finger plate.
Well, looks like I'm as stuck as the door!!
Good thing its not the front left or very front middle
the plunger i can not assist to come up at all!!
I figure it must be either a kinked vac line or some mechanical thing. I thought i could pick up the vac line somewhat before the door and artificially give it a higher vaccum?
Or, last resort, if someone could give me an "exact" location for where the linkage might be blocked, i could drill through the inside of the door. Could that work???
Boy, I just made it to my first A4 (stepped up from US made Ford) and i think i got ripped off!! BIG TIME.
The door is not the only problem ( see my other posts)
Its real beauty, but i think i have a lot to staighten out!!
THanks for your help!!

seems like the cable that hooks to the handle is probably broken or has come loose.
I think you may be able to remove that door panel without the door being open.
