I raced a mustang gt with aftermarket exhaust and something else??? in a third gear roll at like 50.
My car initially studdered, and he had already pulled a car length, but then my turbo spooled and I started catching him, not as quickly as I had hoped, though. By the time I got to the top of third, he had me by a nose and I let off. He kept going and of course, had to turn on his flashers to let every cop in front of him know he just raced. I slowed down pretty quickly and he kept going. It really made my night when I saw him pulled over about a half mile down the road.......

Gt mustangs are pretty fast cars though. I drove an 05 with the roush kit and it hauled ass. Its american muscle. Audis are nicer quality and handle a hell of alot better though. You could have beat him through the twistys.

atleast thats better than practically tieing a cavalier, tonight i was racing one and my car will not launch at all i mean i got fwd but i didnt know that it was so slow im so pissed of atleast im gettin chipped next week but all 5 races i only had him by a car or were dead even this sucks

gt's r not that fast, i mean they r allright but they arent amazingly quick unless they have alot of mods. 3 of my buddies have gt's with lots of mods but they still cant hang with the beast!! haha

hey "the beast" throw those wheels in the garbage and get some real ones. dont put chrome on a european sedan. :(

I agree please don't listen to 18T hes just jealous because his girlfriend/parents havent bought him crome wheels yet.

sorry kilobite, but im gonna have to agree with 18T, the s4 looks way better with a nice set of BBS's or something like that .

dont knock the new GT's, they have stiffened the chassis over 120% and have done wonders to the suspension. now the previouse body style would have trouble keeping up with a mini van in the turns. GT's arent that fast mid 14s stock I believe so nothing special at all.

i think the s4 is beautiful, maybe compromise about wheels, i the stock wheels chromed on my a4 and i love it....

Correction, piggies can be completely free if you know what you are doing and DIY, or you can get them from www.vastperformance.com for $600 and you get $200 back when you ship them your stock DPs. Turbos are much more expensive.

another post you said you had 300whp and you couldn't take a mustang. no offense but if it only had an exhuast and "something else" most likely gears you should have taken him easy. that sucks though. 3 gear @ 50. no maybe at 60-65mph. you should of downshifted to 2nd.

First off, you are right I probably could have downshifted, but it wouldn't have made that much of a difference. And I came to find out my studdering problem was due to a quarter sized rock hole in my smic. And it you look at the dates on the two posts. I had probably 220whp when I raced the gt, bc I didn't have my fmic, my 3" inlet pipe and I was only running 14 psi.

And a correction on the piggy pipes, I'm sorry I thought you meant you got the upgraded manifolds, which are outrageously expensive for almost a non noticeable gain.

Im sorry, I meant look at how long ago I raced him and how long ago I dynoed the car as far as the dates go.

yeah that's cool. at least you have the plenty of power now the take one now. if you car didn't have problems when you raced him you would have taken him easy. I have taken many mustang gt's (not 05+) w/ full exhuasts and intakes when i only had it chip and some little extras. installing the inlet pipe, test pipe and FMIC this weekend, then off to awe to get dyno'd again. o-yeah...

cool let us know what kind of numbers you put down. Btw, is your a4 a fwd or awd?
