The Subaru WRX is a pretty impressive car that can prolly beat out a 2001 S4.</P>


If I'm not mistaken the 2001 S4 had about 250 horsepower and an estimated 0 to 60 time of about 5.4 seconds. A WRX is about 227 horsepower stock and runs 0 to 60 in about the same time.</P>


Although not a luxury vehicle, you're competing with a car that can easily match and in some cases beat your performance and your car.</P>


Plus, they are "easily" modded vechicles and you can do a lot with them to increase their performance significantly. If that WRX was modded theres no question as to why it beat you.<img border="0" src= smileys/smiley2.gif></P>

I've been doing some reading on the WRX and it just doesn't seem to add up. 227hp vs my 250 twin turbo? I know my car is fast. I just didn't think a $21k car would do what it did. So I decided to drive one this weekend and see what the fuss is all about. The dealer sh*t his pants, but...here's what I got from it.</P>


The car, overall, is faster than my S4. </P>


Between 1000-2700rpm the WRX is a dog, but the spool-up and thrust at 3000rpm has decidedly made me a believer. A chip, new exhaust and turbo mod can thrust this car in to Corvette territory. I'm sickened by what I pay per month to have my ass whipped by a Subaru. So I'm trading my S4 in...anyone looking fora silver S4?</P>

dude no way...a WRX stock should not be able to beat and s4....sorry bro S4 is heavier maybe thats why u lost...but my boy has a way hooked up WRX and and i saw him loose to stock S4 around here..so i dont know what the problem is....</P>

drut stay with the S4, it is a way cooler and classier car. i see a million wrx everyday, and they just dont do anything for me. owning an audi is not just about speed, but class, luxury, and performance. but you choose what is most important. but methinks errr meknows chicks would much rather ride in an audi than some played out ricer.

I have a movie of an S4 dragracing against a WRX.... Audi wins... what is normal... an S4: 5.5 to 60 and a normal WRX approx 6.2... you already need a WRX STI with 265 bhp (0-62 in 5.4) to compete with an S4</P>

actually go ahead and sell your audi, then maybe other people wont look at us as a bunch of idiots cause of you. and i think that the 3 races that you did were more of driver vs driver than car vs car and the other driver obviosly had greater skills than you do. he beat you on a car that is significantly slower than yours. i hope u werent just starting out normally and then floored it. LOL.

I have to agree with drut. I own a WRX and a ALMS TT. The WRX will give an S4 a run for it's money, and with a couple of mods it would beat an S4. But the interior and general "fit and fiinish" on an Audi aresuperior. I would much rather drive the S4 on a day to day basis.
