2001 Allroad wheels fit 2000 Avant
If the tire and rim width is the same, it shouldn't be a problem. Obviously, the 25mm wheels will sit 10 mm further out than 35mm, though I'm curious...Aren't the stock 16' rims on a 2000 A6 avant a 45mm offset?
allroad rim won't fit. Will stick out too far. Nobody has done it.
allroad offset: 25MM
C5 A6 avant offsett: 43 or 45MM
If you are upgrading to 17's on your avant, I would recommend adding something with a 35MM offset. 35 will fill out the fender gap quite nicely. A 17x8 rim with 235/45-17's seems to be popular to the folks on the A6 forum on audiworld.com
Good luck!

Ok, I picked up the wheels and installed on the avant. Looks pretty nice. Wheels came with Goodyear 225 55 17s with prety good rubber left. No rub and with the 35mm offset, they do stick out just a little bit, but is in line with the fender flares. I'm planing on replacing the tires with a 50 series tire so I can drop the suspension.
