few questions.
Some of my friends said Audi's were known for problems? and when they have problems they cost ALOT to repair and stuff. I was just curious if you guys had problems and if you did how much did it cost to repair and what not., because im looking into a 99 a4 1.8t or a 98 a6 2.8l.
Help would be appericated
thanks

Welcomce to the forums.
They only cost a lot to repair if you don't take care of them. Maintenance is very important. If you're looking for reliability, go with the 2.8. There are virtually no engine upgrades for it though. If you're looking for something to upgrade, go with the 1.8t. You can also get an A4 with the 2.8 if the A6 is a little to big. Watch to see if the timing belt has been done. It needs to be done around 60-70k. After that, you're asking for a new engine.
Most of the problems Audi had were around 93-95 when they were experimenting with throttle-by-wire. Any german car is going to cost a bit more than a domestic or japanese car. If you look hard enough, you'll find flaws in any car.

Anywhere from $.25 for a fuse to $5,000 if your timing belt breaks. Most issues that come up are below $200.
