Default TT 180 Quattro 88k miles.. Yes/No ?

The day has come.
I'm very close to purchasing a privately owned 2000 Audi TT Quattro 180hp, with 88,000 miles on the odometer.
The seller claims to have all the records, and maintenance was performed by Audi.
What concerns me is that he revealed that the car has been sitting, and upon Starting a small buff of smoke is visible.
The only thing it needs are new Tires, and has slight wear on the Drive side seat.
The gentleman selling me the car seems to be a respectable individual, who also owns a BMW 540. Of course, his wife wants him to let go of one of his babies.
The TT is up for sale for the price of $13,000 US.
What does everyone think of this purchase?
Worth it? Bad idea? Good deal?
I haven't seen or driven the car yet.
What should I look/listen for when I actually go see the car?
Thank so much.

def go and look at the car and take it for a drive --- one possible reason for the smoke cuz its been sitting and the premium gas tends to have that symptom when sitting----but def go and drive the **** out of it and listen to the engine and do the usual checks for the 13k your getting a deal if its ok

I sell vehicles and i think the price is high you should haggle him down, a few months ago i sold a 2001 audi tt 180 with around 46000 miles for a little over $14000. Make sure you take it to get looked over and if you like it offer him 12000 whats the worst that can happen. Good luck
