body roll with oem sport suspension?
I know the audi oem sport suspension isn't fabulous...but i am running the stock-non sport suspension and ride is a little too pilllowy, and there's far too much body roll for my liking.
will someone who is running oem sport suspension on a b6 tell me how much body roll they experience?
i searched the suspension forums, but couldn't quite find what i was looking for.
i know aftermarket suspensions are better, but i am just considering the cheapest option to lower my car if i wanted to drop it ASAP. (i'm pretty sure oem sport would be cheapest.)
thanks.

My '03 A4 has the factory sport suspension. I actually find it pretty good in terms of handling. The body lean is minimal considering the weight of the A4. Comfort, on the other hand, is less than satisfactory. The sport suspension is harsh and crashes over bumps and pot holes. There should definitely be aftermarket choices that would provide a better blend of handling and comfort. However, if value-for-money is a big decision factor for you, the factory package may be the ticket.
I also own a 350Z, it's a very firm ride, and sometimes the A4 feels just as bad.
BTW, I drive on crappy Canadian roads which take all kinds of abuse in the winter so if you live somewhere where the roads are smoother, you won't find the sport suspension as bad.

I don't own a b6 but the stock sport suspension on my b5 rides really firm. When I really push it to its limits it has a lot of body roll. I know after market sway bars will make a bid differance as far as body roll.
I have a '02 with factory sport susp. and I love it. Car handles great in corners and the roll isn't tha bad at all. She sets firmly on the ground.
remeber this is a 4 door family car. I dont have the oem sport on my b5 and the stock suspension wows me. We had a beautiful day yesterday and I drove the twist road for no reason and I was all grins for 30 min solid. In fact when I went inside my face hurt from smiling to much.
Now had I compared the audi to my old dsm then its no comparison. But take things with a grain of salt, and for that the a4 handles superbly.

i have neuspeed race springs that lower the car 2" adn h&r sway bars the body roll is very little, it handles so frikin good, that is about the cheapest way you can get the body roll down.
i want to reduce body roll to a minimum, but not have a completely punishing ride.
i think i would want aftermarket sport springs...not race springs...that would probably be overkill.
ideally i think i would want the h&r sport spings and bilstein sport shocks.
if i get that stuff, would the sway bars still be necessary to really reduce body roll?

But yeah my sport suspension is pretty tight considering the weight.. Like he^ said if you push it there is deffinately body roll.. As far as bumps/dips, or up and down action goes its tight as hell for me. Sway bars would be a good idea, and are a hellavalot cheaper than a new suspension.. Might be worth a try.
race springs are just a little stiffer than the sport springs, you can go the same drop with sport springs they just won't be as stiff, you can put the spring shock combo on and you might like the way it handles, you might not need swaybars, try the spring/shock combo first, if you want more then you can put on the swaybars. it's up to the individual who is driving the car.
