Default misfire

ai all
i have a 95 a8 4.2
the car has been running fine untill yesterday.
i noticed the idle was a bit lumpy and that the cat light would flash.
the cat light flashed 4-5 times and the idle went back to normal. the car drives perfect no poblems . this only happens at idle .
today went to local garage to get it checked. it was pluged for diagnostic and showed that the right bank 4 cylinders are misfireing.
i was told that it could be the spark plugs . i have replaced all 8 plugs and still on diffrence . the 4 plugs on the right bank were very black as to say running very rich .
then i was told that it could be the coil packs . rather than buying 4 new coil packs .just to check the mechanic swaped the coil packs from rght to left bank . in doing this still no diffrence . still running the same . the wireing was also checked for positive and negitive to each coil .

not sure were to look now
please let me know any sugestions

thanks
latif

Well... I would think it's more of a fuel problem, and not part of the ignition system.
