A few weeks after i bought my car the ABS light came on. after reading a few threads i figured it might just be a dirty sensor or sumthing not too serious. So tonite i was kinda racing my friend around my school. i'm not sure what speed i was going (not that fast) but i came up on the stop sign and stepped on the brakes with a fair amount of force. by no means did i stomp on them tho. anyways my brakes locked up and i slid sideways somewhat before coming 2 a complete stop. needless to say i got the sh*t scared outta me. so at the next stop sign i stomped on the breaks(for testing purposes) and again my tires locked up and the car slid. I'm assuming that this means that my ABS is gone. If anyone knows anything about what might be wrong i'd appreciate the enlightenment. and also, How much to fix? i'm thinking its gonna be expensive. thanks

 

Those things are expensive, I know thats not what you wanted to hear. I know some people have them rebuilt.

 

When abs applies you will feel the brake pedal shake. Check the faults in your abs control module. Then we can help you figure out whats causing your abs not to function. Also make sure your brake fluid level is ok.
