Default ALMOST new Audi owner.

I am going to be purchasing a 2000-2001 A4 very soon. I always completely shut out the 1.8t and was leaning towards the 2.8 (was even willing to shell out almost 4 grand more) because I figured it had more power and any mods Id be able to do to one would go to the other. That was, of course, until I was reading the FAQ. Im VERY sure this has been posted before and apologize for the repost, but can the 1.8t really be modded that much better then the 2.8? What kind of hp differences would there be and how much would it really cost?

To answer your question, YES it can really be modded that much better than the 2.8. As for the other two questions, go here: https://www.audiforums.com/search.asp

Welcome.. Nice SN... It has been covered many times, and the FAQ's dont lie.. The 1.8t is FAR more modable than the 2.8. It would cost about $500 to make it faster than a 2.8 with a chip. Bigger turbo w/supporting mods starts around $1500-2000.

Yeah, i didnt think the FAQ would be wrong, it just kind of took me by surprise. That price range isnt too bad at all considering I was going to be spending almost 4 grand more to get what I wanted in the v6.
