Hello All,

I am a new member and I am looking for some advice. I have an 2003 Audi A4 with a crappy Chorus Head Unit. I want to replace this headunit with a 3rd Party one from someone like Alpine, Sony etc.

However, before I do. I want to know if I would still be able to get any information displayed on my Driver Information System in the Instrument Cluster. I don't mind if it doesn't display anything useful like track names etc but I don't want it to be off and would prefer it said something like CD on it.

If anyone can help with the question I would appreciate it. I know this question has been asked before but it was over a year ago and I was hoping there maybe some new stuff out there.

Thanks.

Sadly, there's no current product to perform what you're asking for.

Thanks for your help guys. I guess I may opt for an iPod adapter instead is the Dension ICE link still the best option?

Well, it depends on how "cool" of an iPod interface you want. I feel the ultimate is the Harmon Kardon piece:

I'm fairly sure nearly all the other iPod interfaces work the same. The "disc" is a playlist you create on iTunes, and the "track" is the song in the playlist. You can't see the titles/artists/etc.

Another option is Alpine's IVA-W200. It's got full speed iPod connection and control on the touch screen. Add the H701 for ultimate DSP capability and you're well on your way to sonic nirvana.
