Hi, I just purchased a 96' 2.8 a4 quattro and want to take it in for a check up. The car has 127K on it and seems to be running fine, what type of things should I have the mechanic look for?

-Should I take it to the dealer??

--I have not done a carfax report, should i bother paying for one?

if u already bought the car i wouldnt get a carfax. other things with the high mileage, just take car of it, esp the oil.

 

first off, I'm sure its been done but you need to find out, the timing belt. that should be your numberone priority. this baby has gone bad and ruined many a car. not trying to worry you or anything just want to make sure that is taken care of with higher millage. As for other issues. most are taken care of as they come about. welcome to the forums and also welcome to the 12V family.

Do not take it to the stealership. Find a local shop that deals specifically with european cars. One that specializes in Audis would be best.

 

Thanks guys! I noticed the other day that i have an oil leak but i cant afford to fix it right now. it isnt very bad but i noticed a drip gathering at the bottom of my engine. How much time do i have to fix this??

You should post the problem in the A4 section with a description of how much oil your losing and where it's comng from. Not a lot of people visit this section.
