Default Considering 98 A6 2.8 Quattro

I just wrecked my 97 Lexus ES 300 and so I'm back in the market for a car. I went to Scottsdale Audi and they had a 98 A6 Quattro in beautiful silver. It was very pretty on the outside, but had a couple pieces of paint chipped off. The windows are tinted. I looked inside briefly and was astonished to see a yellow-ish cream leather color... it looked gorgeous. Does anyone know exactly what color that is? I've looked everywhere, but I can't find any information on it. The previous owner was a diamond salesman; it has less than 60,000 miles on it, most of which are probably highway miles.

I was a little concerned by a couple things in the interior... the center arm rest between the driver and passenger seats was very dark and near-black from wear-and-tear. The salesman assured me it hadn't been detailed yet, but I'm wondering if I really want a vehicle that has a rough interior like that. I'm a white 19 year-old male, but I'm not too concerned about performance. I prefer luxury and comfort over speed and exhilaration (I'll take my parents' 05 LS 430 out for all of those). The salesman said he could sell it for 12 to 13k. Would that be a good deal? I've been researching A6's from around that time and I'm concerned about electrical issues, as well as the control arms/etc.

I want to have peace of mind when I buy this... where could I take it for a cheap 30-point inspection, or whatever? Anything else I should beware of, or keep in mind?

just remember at 60k your going to have to think about timing belt replacement soon and control arm are going to be close top that time also. my interior is beige and blue on my silver a4 and I love it just cause its different it takes a little more effort to clean but it looks nice. ask the salesman if there is a Assured warrenty available it would be well worth it [sm=trust_me.gif]
