If you want to mod it... I think you should look for a 1.8T because there easier to tune. IF not.... you can look after a 2.8.. they have the 6-cyl. and are smoother.

It's just what you want...

Do you plan to modify the car at all?

Are you looking for smooth, no lag power with a little refinement? or peppy power with more performance oppurtunity and a more sporty feel?

Both are solid motors.

looks like 1.8T is better for you.

if u want economy then lay off the boost, if you want performance then give it more gas

1.8T are much more "moddable" than 2.8 due to the presence of turbo. The only major power gain for 2.8 is a supercharger, other than that there is a couple minor things. There is endless possibilities of modding a 1.8T. Also 1.8T is a lighter block and provides better weight distribution between the front and the rear. Also less weight in the front = less understeer.

So its up to you but from what you are saying i think 1.8T with Q will perfectly suit your needs.

Quattro is not just AWD, its one of the best AWD systems out there. FYI the Audi rally team were prohibited to use quattro on their cars cause they had too much advantage over other teams.

Sport has nothing to do with HP, in different years they were rated at diff HP. Its just a sport package with better suspension, rims, tires, heated seats and steering wheel and some other goodies.
