I just bought an ’01 S4 from a dealership with a price I could not pass up. She needs a little work, but over the weekend I was able to open her up and let her run in some canyons in Colorado.

Anyway to my question… I have an AWE tuning boost gauge, and usually get between 12-15 psi of boost in hard acceleration. What are you running for boost? Anyone know what was the original factory boost level? Thanks.

 

i will peak at like 20-21.. but thats me. stock is like 8. id have to say thats kind of an odd level of boost cause most chips will go a bit higher then that.. you may have a boost leak.

 

2nd that. Chipped boost is about 15-16. So, sounds like chipped with a leak. Go to awe tuning and search their site for 2.7t and then for the pressure tester (should be under engine or something). Take the list of parts for the pressure tester to Home Depot. Put the pressure tester together. Pressure test.

 

8 psi is stock??? i thought it was more around 12

 

Around 8 from all I've read.

 

Plus, sooks said the same thing--how could you doubt????

 

thats weird i peak boost at like 20lbs on the stock ko3's with my front mount full exhaust and giac chip....And also i think i blew my ko3's today[:@]

 

naw..thats not weird. Giac can easily go that high..esp with yoru supporting cast there.
