APR, BABY!!!!! Timing belt...not so much
Just got her chipped with the stage one, and OMG what a difference. The turbo sounds like it's on steroids! The only thing that sux is while it was at Klaus Euromotive, I had them do a routine check on some things, and it looks like I have some stuff to take care of before I can keep modding her. The timing belt is on its last legs (car has just under 100k). It nneds 2 new cv joints and a tie rod. Oh and the rear diff is leaking, prob needs a new gasket. 2 grand in upkeep, ouch. What should I be charged for a timing belt job with everything, including the water pump? Glenn said roughly about $1200 parts and labor, is that about right. He seemed pretty honest, so I don't think he's trying to take me for a ride, but I want to make sure I can't get a significantly better deal elsewhere. Any help/info appreciated. Thanks

Try a search on "timing belt" its been covered MANY times and theres a lot of good info to be found. If you are good with tools, or have any, you can do it yourself for about $300 and 8 hours max. You can actually do all those things they are telling you are going to cost $2k for about $500. You just need tools and a little time and experience or really good directions.
yeah, $850 seems about right. I got a couple of other quotes from some places in the area and they were right in that range, so I think Klaus was a little on the pricey side. Good to know, and thanks for the input.
i got my timing belt and head cover gasket done for 900 at autobahn permier in denver and the tech "randy" also installed my snub mount for free and he also took pic of the top of the engine while the head cover was off so i could see that it was in good shape
it pays to shop around i was going to have champane motor sports do it but they wanted 1000 for the timing belt alone i just found autobahn premier when i was checking out giac's website
good thing you didn't, Ive heard some nightmare stories on theis forum about champane motor sports. The rear diff is probably last on my list, while the timing belt, etc and the tie rod are definately at the top. I think I'm going to go to KTR in Ayer, MA they gave me a good quote
