Default Forge 004!

Ok so Ive searched this site for information on the Forge 004 DV, well I guess it would be a BOV? Anyways, I was wondering cause im looking to buy a new valve and someone is selling this for really cheap. I have a 98 Audi A4 1.8T Tip, will this throw a CEL or damage my car?

Thanks!

The 004 cannot be setup as a recirc valve, there are instances where a CEL is triggered, not sure exaclty what determines that but if it does happen we will sort you out. As for engine damage, I've not heard an explanation that seems to be grounded in reality nor backed by evidence.

You can run it VTA for a little bit but it’s not good for your motor. You will run rich and that’s not good. It has been proven that running rish isn't good for the motor. It’s not going to blow up your motor or kill anything but just because it doesn’t do severe damage doesn’t mean it’s not bad and you shouldn’t do it. It’s like eating fast food every day. You might get indigestion once and a while (cel) but other then that the short term signs are small. But down the road you will get fat or have a heart attack but then again it doesn’t happen to every one. It is just up to you if you want to risk it when you know there is a safer path to take.

BOV on A4= Trans Fatty Acids.
Sure it tastes good, but what about a year from now and you are busting out of your speedo like a beached whale?

Running rich for extended periods has lots of bad long term affects such as fouled spark plugs, fouled 02 sensors, clogged cat, and a gunked up exhaust system including nasty black muffler tips. Poor mpg is one of the short term affects.
