We have all bulb types available, however, the group buy is for single beam kits.

If you need a bi-xenon kit, we can also offer you a great deal on that.

Thanks in advance :)

I have a couple of questions:

1. My car doesn't have bi-xenon equipped, will this work with halogen headlamp or will I need to replace the headlight assembly?

2. If it works with the current headlight assembly, will the light beam be all over the place with these hid kit?. I've heard people who converted to hid's had this problem with theirs

Here are your answers:

You do not require bi-xenon headlights, and you do not have to replace your light assembly. You will obviously get an improved light pattern using projectors, but even with standard halogen assemblies, the light output will be great. We have 80% of our customers using HIDs with standard halogen assemblies. Our HID bulbs are focused corrected, so that helps in maintaining a focused beam pattern.

Thank you in advance :)

You would really just need to upgrade your low beams.

Just find out what light is needed there, and you can get the corresponding HID kit.

Thanks in advance :)

hmmm is anyone currently running aftermarket HID's on their audi (pref. b5 s4)...just want to get an idea as to what they will look like

already running stock hid's in my s4, this should be a simply plugg n play right, just change out the bulbs, ballast and relays?

if i got the 6000k and was disappointed with the color output, I would be able to run another temp (ie. 4300k) without having to buy another kit, correct?

Here is a customer photo of the 4300K kit installed:

Our install guide can be found at: http://www.visionbulbs.com/HID_inst.html

As for changing the bulb color, you can simply switch the bulbs. You do not need to change anything else.

Do your aftermarket HID's have that sweet burn color changing effect?
i.e. I like how when I turn my stock xenons on they go from a greenish blue to a dark blue to a white...(they actually seem brighter when i first turn them on)

There is a very short burn-in that will give that color changing effect once it is fired up :)

Yes, you could definitely use our kits on your B6.

The kit comes complete with bulbs, ballasts, mouting brackets, and all necessary wires and accessories. Everything is included to easily convert your vehicle from halogen to true Xenon.

Sounds good to me. I'll take a kit at that price.

Another question though: If I order the 6000k bulbs and don't really like them and want to go down to the 4300k can I exchange them? If not, how much are the bulbs themselves? How hard is it to swap them out?

If you used the bulbs, unfortunately we could not exchange them. However, we have replacement bulbs available for $109.95 before your 15% discount!

Swapping them is extremely simple to do. Just unplug, and replug.

Can you provide a kit for a 2006 A3. If so, I could prolly find 4-5 customers including myself;)

I don't know what else you need to research this, so let me know how I can help.

Hey Visionbulbs, i received my HID kit today, and I must say the shipping was very fast.

Unfortunately, i have a problem. After calling the dealer, and 5 different auto parts stores everyone kept telling me
that my car uses H1 bulb type, but once I looked at the bulb it said H7:(

Even that sylvania guide on your home page says H1.

What are my options now? Could I return the H1's to exchange for H7's? Would I keep the igniter and rest of the kit and send back only the bulbs?
Please help and let me know, I also left you a voicemail with my phone #.

Well what can I say, VISIONBULBS came through with a great product.

I got the 6000k and must say they're really nice. My bulb type was H7 I eneded up ordering H1, and
what do you know they fit Perfectly, therefore I didn't have to exchange.

Now the only thing that I need to figure out how to fix is that one headlight harnesses that's left alone. This causes the computer to beep and tell me a bulb is out. If someone knows how to make a loop in the harness, or trick a computer, please let me know.

Again, thx visionbulbs.

All this HID is new to me..... I have requested information via your web-site, but whilst you're here; what would you recommend for a 1999 Audi 8 built for the European markets and currently living in Moscow, Russia where it is dark for 6 months of the year. I'm always moaning just how badly lit up the roads are so what do you recommend (besides moving)?

Plus, I guess I should be able to find a local technician that could fit the kit without to great a difficulty.

What would be the shipping costs to Moscow, Russia?

Many thanks.

If you already have HID low beams, then it would be D2S or D2R. Otherwise, it is likely the H7.

As for the fogs, they're not listed in our database.

Can someone help out here???

Hello,

We just responded to your email.

If you're looking for improved lighting, we would suggest going with an HID kit for your driving lights (low beams) and also your fog lights. Go with a 4300K or 6000K, and you'll really see an improvement when driving in the dark.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you in advance :)

I would assume it is still going on...just give them a call. Anyways, I got my kit last thursday finally got it installed today. Cost an ass load, according to the install guy they had bypass my old system (stock HID's and ballast) and do all sorts of work. They said it took them 4 hours, I thought that was kind of ridiculous but I wasn't going to argue. I got the 6000k and they look real good so far, they don't seem to be too different from my old ones, I am assuming the lightout put will really increase but I can't really tell because it is only 2:45 in the afternoon. I'll snap some pics for you guys later.

Well I've figured how to fix the bulb out message that displays on our cars once you install this kit. I've attached a write up picture diagram on how to fix this problem. *SEE ATTACHMENT BELLOW*

The hook up takes about an hour, the hardest part is locating the location for the ignitors. It took me long time to play with resistors to find out what exactly works. The kit/lights look great, and I'll post some pics too...

See attachment, good luck:)

P.S. Visionbulbs, you better hook me up with a discount on my next kit or bulb set for helping people with your KIT:)

the other night I also manually adjusted my low beams to aim higher (they were aiming way too low). they are perfectly level now and look real good. no one flashes me from the otherside of the road, so that is nice.

p.s. the pics i took are now considered outdate, i'll try and post up some photos that have the adjusted lights.

Can someone help me and let me know here you mounted the balast during your install? I have a B6 A4 and I don't see anyplace to mount these things. Looks like the factory location is underneath the headlight but the balasts are too thick and too wide to fit in there.

HELP!

Deb38
12-28-2006, 09:08 PM
umm you can pretty much mount it anywhere, i know the visionbulbs ballast has a black holder that can be screwed in just by bending the top tab and putting a nut and bolt through it. if you can find any place that will hold this ballast casing that allows you to attach it/hang it then you should be fine. my stock ballasts were larger and thinner but my new ones fit right in the old one.

Yea, they wont fit in the factory area in the little cutout box, but they actaully do fit under there. If you push them back in there enough and put the light housing in they'll fit. It doesn't seem like it will, but it does. I used double sided tape also to make sure the ballasts areextra secure.

Deb38

+1 I was gonna say to use also double sided tape for extra strength but you beat me to it.

Don't worry about having them in the stock location.

I think I need to talk to somone who has installed this kit. I'm just more than a bit confused about what goes where and the instructions are not very clear and seem to skip several steps. Can anyone help me out? I have the bulbs installed and the ballasts mounted. I just don't know how everything connects. I can PM you my phone number if you don't mind.

It seems you don't have to use the relay harness. Is this correct?
Where do the ballast connectors go to?
Did you have to drill a new hole in the back of the headlight for the ballast wires that plug into the bulb?
Did you actually hook it up to your car battery? If so, did you have any problem getting through the firewall? I ask because my battery is near the cabin seperated from the engine.

I want to thank AAudiA6 for his help. He kindly gave me a call and told me very simply the best way to install the kit. I didn't even use the relay harness and just hooked it directly up to the existing wiring. The instructions should say that you can use either or in the beginning but they are very very fuzzy.

Once I got off the phone with him my kit was working in an hour. Thanks again.

This is probably a stupid question (but hey, i'm a n00b, right??), but what's the worst that'll happen if the relay harness provided with the kit is not used? The instructions suggest that 'the relay harness is designed to protect the ballasts from power surges and other electrical complications'. So, if the relay harness is not used, the ballasts and or HID bulbs might get damaged during use? Howlikely is that to happen? Does the power coming from the headlight harness fluctuate that much? Am just trying to decide whether or not to use the relay harness (as it seems to complicate the install a little bit - and would be less 'clean-looking'). But at the same time, if it's better to use the relay harness, I'll do that. With the relay harness in place, do you still get the 'bulb-out' message? (I imagine you might since it's only 35W compared to 55W, and you're only connecting through one headlight harness that anyway).

I can't wait to get these working!! :D

We have a lot of people with the kits installed not using the relay. We only suggest using the relay as it reduces the risks of the power damaging the ballasts and/or bulbs. However, to this day, we have a less than 0.5% failure rate on kits installed without the relay, so that's pretty amazing.

In the end, we would suggest using the installation method that best fits your vehicle.

As for the bulb out error, we usually don't have that with Audi's. If you happen to get it, you can pick up a resistor for $2-$3 for any electronics store, and this should fix the problem.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you again :)

Hello Jeff,

In all honesty, you get what you pay for. The Xeno-Match will whiten the output, but they wont be much brighter than what you currently have with your halogen set.

With HID, you notice a drastic difference.

If you're able to shell out the extra money, we would highly recommend going with the HID.

Thank you in advance :)

Ok, so what HID set should I get? And is it just for low beams?? What about fog lights, etc?

I have a 2002 AUDI A4. Let me know. maybe 6000k or 8000k? Does this then make it true xenon?

Hello Jeff,

You would need a kit for your low beams. If you also wanted to convert your fog lights, you would need to purchase a second kit.

As for color, we would recommend the 6000K.

Alright fellas I installed my H7 6000k kit a few weeks ago and noticed something very strange. Over the last couple of weeks I noticed my radio has been really static'y. My local stations are just full of static. Well, I was driving yesterday and thought to myself, hey my radio isn't so static'y anymore.I then flipped on my headlights cause it was getting kind of dark and boom, my radio is full of static again. I was shocked. I turned my lights back off and boom, my radio was fine.

Why would installing an HID kit mess with my radio reception? I am totally baffled by this. Never in a million years would I thought that static would be caused by my HID headlights.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I actually have noticed this as well. Although for me, i have only seen static on an AM radio show i listen to. But it was definately noticeable at times and went on and off with my fogs.. I assuem i dont get it on other stations is maybe due to placement of the ballasts??? Maybe try mounting your ballasts somewhere different... I guess it has to do soemthing with a frequency omitted either by the ballast or bulb that causes the distortion.

I got this too, but the static isn't that bad that it makes it unbareable to listen to the radio, so I just deal with it or listen to cds/phatnoise.

It definately is odd though.

Last Monday I received my H7 kit for my 2007 A4 from VB
I’m pretty sure I’ve received the wrong HID kit or this kit is defective.

I checked the bulbs and both appear to be in good condition, also made sure all my connections were secure

When I installed this kit initially I used the first diagram on the given instructions without the alternative wire bundle. And both bulbs flickered continuously. So I decided to use the relay wire bundle given with this kit. It looks nothing like the wire bundle shown in the diagram and the ends supplied will not connect into the other. Upon looking at the set up for an H4 system, this wire looks almost identical to that.

This is very frustrating and I have lost an entire day. Taking my car apart and putting it back together for what seems to be nothing at all. I am not sure if I received a faulty kit or just the wrong kit altogether. The package says it’s an H7 kit but I can’t be sure. Maybe it's a shipping goof-up or I'm just part of that unlucky 1%, but something is wrong. [:@][:@][:@]

Same thing happened to me. I have a 2007 A4 also. My kit was installed by a professional shop. The lights flicker like a strobe light. They will turn on, light up for a little bit and then start to flicker on my after a mile or so. I don't understand it at all. I have to turn on my fog lights so they stop flickering. When the lights are on and not flickering, damn, I love it!

Thoughts??

i just got my kit 10 minutes ago and as i was reading through the "the items and instructions which should be raised to your attention" section, it says "during installation, please make sure that you have a good ground for the negative. a poor ground will cause the HID light to flicker"

i'd check your grounds. maybe use a copper brush to clean off the metal you are grounding your lights to. sometimes if there is paint, you might not get the best connection.

FWIW

I started troubleshooting my radio reception problem over the weekend. I entirely unplugged one ballast after the other tested the radio. Well, I tested the passenger side first. I mounted this ballast in the bottom corner of the bumper. It's pretty deep in there and you can't see it without taking the headlight out. Well, I disconnected this one and still had the static. So...

I disconnected the driver's side ballast. This ballast is in plain view and sits right therenext to my washer fluid. It's not burried or out of the way. It's zip tied to a couple of other metal brackets but that's about it. I diconnected it and I didn't lose a hint of radio reception.

It seems by mounting these ballasts open in plain view messes with my radio. The one ballast that tucked out of the way doesn't cause any type of problems. So, I would recommend mounting them away from everything as possible. I'm going to try to remount it sometime later but for now I'll just deal with it.

Just a suggestion.

That would make sense if i was using the relay harness.. it has a + and - wire. I was attempting this without the relay harness like people recommended here, then there is no wire to ground. Besides it would seem I was given the wrong harness... the plugs don't match at all

Yes, we have all bulb types available for all vehicles.

You just need to find out what type of bulb that vehicle uses.

The H1, H3, H4, etc..., is the bulb type used by your vehicle. For instance, the A4 generally uses an H7 bulb for the low beams, whereas aHonda Civic, generally uses an H4.

Check your manual, or confirm with someone else on the forum who has the same model/year as you.

Thanks in advance :)

Could be a conflict with the ECU? Or it could be where you have it installed, or what you have it installed with (other devices).

If you check with previous posts, it seems the flickering problem is with the '07 A4s. I have an '06 A3 and installed a different conversion kit (more expensive than your kits) and had the flickering problem. I returned them but still want HIDs. I need to know your kit won't flicker before I order them, otherwise, I'll spend $500 for the Serious Vision bulbs who advertise no flickering with late model Audis. Have you been able to resolve this flickering issue?

I want to order some hid lights for my a4 from your website but if i add some xeno match bulbs for my hi-beam and my fogs then i have to pay extra shipping!
Why is this?Im sure 4 extra bulbs could be added to the box.

If i do have to pay the extra then will the shipping still be express?

Can someone clarify this for me also as in which wire they spliced in to or cut on the harness etc...
Some wired photo's would be good.
Anyone......
