What are the BEST Tires.
I have a 2000 180hp Quattro.
I need 4 tires I would love to get some feed back. I want something that is sporty and not to loud on teh road as i drive 50 miles each day to and from work. Im not going to race the car but do like a good handling tire. Any suggestions. I do know the car Called for OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE040. (Ouch about 170 per)
Thanks for the feedback.

I got Potenza RE050A's from tire rack about 2 months ago for $80 a tire in the oem 17" size. It was some special deal on the price, but I am really happy with them. They supposedly suck on ice, but they do well in water, and are great on dry days. I've heard the treadwear is pretty bad, but they are too new for me to really know first-hand. So far though, I'm happy with them, I would have paid a lot more for this quality of tire.
Absolutely loved my BFG G-Force tires, they got kinda loud as they wore out though. Currently running Falkin 512's, not as grippy (360 treadwear compared to the 300 of the BFG's) but so far so good. You really can't compare them though, as the BFG's were summer sport tires, and the Falkins are all seasons.
You left your question wide open though, it makes a difference whether you can run UHP summer sports, or you need a all season, etc... Pick a catagory, and I might be able to give you more suggestions.

My buddy is running advan (sport? ill ask) on his vehicle, either way they are ridiculous for summer/spring season and minimal noise.. I think 17" is their largest size though.
