Hey, I have a 99 a4 1.8T quattro tiptronic With a APR chip and a CAI (that does nothing) and I was doing some 0-60 runs the other day, and all of my times were just over 11 sec. Which leads me to the question, why the hell is my car so slow???? Is my car supposed to get these sort of times????
Please help!! Any sugestions???
It's a small motor in a relatively heavy car, your tiptronic may also be slowing you down a little.

Hmmm.....
That's true, the a4 is really heavy, but isn't my car supposed to go 0-60 in 9.5 sec. stock anyway?

I know that the stock 2.8 30v with tip does it in about 8.9 seconds...so your chipped car should be able to handle doing it that quick...

The 1.8T chipped should run 0-60 faster than a 2.8, probably in the low 8's (a little slower for Tip). Lighter than 2.8, but with more hp = faster 0-60...

then why is my audi so slow?? is it because it is really old and it has a decent ammount of miles? Do you think if i put my stock air filter in and put a new filter in that (take out CAI) would that help?

As far as the CAI goes it will only hinder your performance on really hot days when the motor is running hot (and turbo) thus sucking really hot air into the filter. I would not change it, this has nothing to do with your slow 0-60 times. Do you have a boost gauge to see what you are boosting at? you might want to start there.

Really old as in its a 99 and its 7 years old and a decent amount of miles as in 114,000
No I dont have a boost guage, I really thought about it though. I don't know what else to do.
Thanks to all for the help
