Default Early morning desert fun

About 90 minutes north of LA there is a dry lake bed called El Mirage. If you get there early enough, you can own it until the RVs, dirt bikes and home-made flying machines arrive. One still shot at sunrise, the same shot with a little bit o' Phoroshop, and then one of my bud blasting across the desert at about 120 mph.

awesome. I'd definately like to try that.

How far can you drive in a straight line before you run out of lakebed?

It's a GREAT place - I think the lake is 10 square miles and the longest stretch of perfect flatness (no small bushes or "pucker bumps") is about 5 miles. Maybe 3. It is hard to tell and I have never measured. It is so much fun!
