In the past, I have squeeeeeezed a 225/40/15 onto a 7" rim. It really didn't look good though. The sidewall wound up being more diagonal than vertical. I would go with the smaller tire.

haha stock swings are awesome especially when painted flat black

anyway i usually put 205/55/16 on a 16 wheel.

can i bump it up 15mm and go 225 or would 215 suffice?

the reason i ask is because the 225/50/16 is 20-30$ cheaper than the 205/55/16.

WTF?

Swings?? How about rims? Tires? wheels?

No, lets just make up a name that has nothing to do with the actual thing we are talking about.

Hey, what kind of tires should I get for my new jellyrolls?

Anyway, if they are for winter, you want thinner tires anyway, you will get better traction.

hey d1ckhead those wheels are called swings.

and i know very well that thiner tires are better for winter. THATS NOT WHAT I ASKED.

learn to read before you make retarded comments.

the reason i ask is because the 225/50/16 is 20-30$ cheaper than the 205/55/16.
normally i wouldnt give a **** about the price, but puting together a bt kit is what im after right now, and every penny saved is going to help me out.
