Default k04 tuning with k03

How will a car run with K04 tuning on a K03. Reason im asking is either I will have to run the car with a K04 and stock tuning til the i get the tuning done, or run K04 tuning on stock turbo til I get the turbo work done. It would only be for a very short time either way.

If its the basic k04 file (not j-31 or pc-16) you should be fine to run k04 software on a k03 for a short time. I wouldnt go WOT-ing with having one part and not the other. Or, the smarter thing to do would be to just wait until you can get them both done at the same time. Id feel more comfortable using a k04 turbo on k03 software though. If you try to run the aggressive k04 files on a k03 youll probably kill your turbo. K04 has heavy duty journal bearings inside (compared to the k03) to deal with the higher boost levels the pc16 and j31 files put out and it just flows better.

Ok, looks like I need to do another search for this, and i will but differences on the k04 files? reasons to get one over the other? The reason I HAVE to drive is because im getting my chip done at a shop, about an hour or so away while i wait and the turbo is being sent out. I dont care which i do first, its gonna be one right after the other anyway.

matters with the year. make sure you get the turbo first and run it on the stock programming.

pc16- 99/.5
j31- 00
hammer(fxko4) - 01

youll be around 280 with proper support mods.

yes but as stated above if you run one of those aggressive files your turbo wont stand a chance, you will also need a fmic and a 2.5 inch exhaust, and maybe bigger injectors, im not sure about that one though

haha ya j31 boosts 25 to almost 30 psi so that would kill your little k03 real quick, especially if you dont have the other supporting mods. If you get the basic k04 file youd be alright because it boosts similar to the k03 giac file.
