Any dealer can tell if you have a chip if they open up the ECU box and physically look. But the VAG scan tool they use cannot detect that there is a modified chip in the ECU. They will, however, notice the battery (or powerto the ECU)has been disconnectedunless you have a VAG tool and can remove the codes before goin to the dealer.

Personally, I would not chip a leased car - if they discover you chipped it they will try to screw you, you can bet on it - They need to get money back on that car and will argue that you have prematurely aged the engine and turbo by running a chip in it. Of course, most of that argument is BS, but chipping a car you don't own is not the best idea in the first place.

if you do want a chip, and want one thats easier on the car, Neuspeed is a good choice. APR and GIAC are great chips, but Neuspeed has a 0.8 bar chip thats easier on the engine and turbo.
