Default Is a cracked Turbo bad??? (56K beware)

The arrow marks the spot! The crack goes clean through......

I just replaced this turbo because the impellor had more play than a rich guy in a strip bar, but after it was off I found this crack. Just curious if that was a big problem waiting to happen?

well it isnt good

it may be fixable.. look for some place that does cast repair.. it needs to be heated up and welded so it cools at the same rate

Lazer Viking --
I already got a newly remanufactured turbo (bought from Gpopshop.com and installed at a shop here in Harrisburg), but it looks like my core refund will be on the low end of the scale. LOL!

You will need to drill both ends of the crack and get some high nickel welding rod and weld it shut.
