more mod options..??? also i remember reading about the intake being bigger on a certain year, i am going to the auction tommorow and i would appreciate any last minute help.i am trying to get a 1999-2000-2001.i dont know which one had the larger intake.

If you are buying 1.8T, 2001.5 and later has 170 hp, dont know about 2001. Dont know about the intake. Good Luck tomorrow!!!

 

99.5 for moding. DBC and most upto date styling for the B5 chasis.
If you cant get a 99.5, a 97-99 would be the next best because its still DBC, and you can upgrade most of the cosmetic stuff yourself including one peice headlights and tail lights.
In other words. DBC (97-99.5)is best for moding.

 

For the B5's (96-01), they're pretty even for mods. If you're looking to make some serious power, the pre-00 1.8t has larger intake ports. The engine code is AEB.

BaconBait you are sure that the larger ports were pre-2000? so the 1999.5 would be with the larger port right? also one more question.....

doALL the AEB engine coded engines have the larger intake ports ?and why did they make them smaller after 2000 ?thanx in advance.
