Black box and a "tank" under the cd changer?

Black box and a "tank" under the cd changer?
Hi....
Just bought myself a Audi A6 2.5 TDi Avant.
Behind the left cover, below the toolbox and the cd-changer, is there a "black box", and below that one again, is a thing, what looks like a tank.
Does anyone here know what those things are?
And i got a wierd problem with the Navi plus; It shows constantly approx. 90 degrees wrong... when i'm heading towards 0 deg. North, it jumps north on the map, but the heading of the arrow (the car), is pointing towards between 270 and 300 degrees west by northwest...
Repairs needed?
