Default ALL S4 OWNERS READ IMMIDIATELY!! NEED IMPUT!!!

Ok guys here's the deal,
i bought my b6 s4 on 4-20-2007 used from Lexus..... the other day my check engine light came on but everything seemed fine.... no drivability problems what so ever.... so i took the car back because there is a 30 day warranty.... i dropped it off yesturday and they sent the car to the nearest Audi dealer. today the guy from lexus calls me and tells me that it is a bad "air sensor for the fuel injector" ...... huh? is this really a sensor??? just wondering if this is b*ll sh*t before i go back to pick it up.... personally i thought i may have left off the gas cap cause i filled up that day....

think he could be talking about the MAF? he said it was going to cost him $429 to fix

(52,000 MILES)

it kinda sounds like the ole "worn out muffler bearing" act to me... It might be an actual sensor, but I've never heard of it. You should've Vagcom'd it before you went in so you knew what it was.. If they let you have the car back, go get the codes.

good luck!

You could ask him what actual sensor it was. Maybe he was trying to do you a favor and not be as technical about it. The way he described it seems vague enough that it could be a few things.

oh no, i was all over him- asking the technical questions... he was obviously not mechanically inclined... he couldn't tell me anything more...
with the cost being $429... or so he says.... i'm leaning toways a bad O2 sensor...... but at 52,000 miles would you expect that?

there is no suck sensor that costs that much, unless he is charging you an *** load of labor. maybe the fuel pressure regulator? that deals with air and gas

I doubt MAF would be that much... I would think about half that because its extremely easy to install.

[:@] Damn Jet.. sorry bro..

I'd get the Codes ASAP...
if they wont give u the codes - just go to the Autozone & plug in
the OBD II diagnostics & get the codes there...

then post what the codes are...

[] good luck - man keep us posted

but that price is about the cost of the MAF
