I just bought a second hand A2 and realized the cd/radio doesn't shut off with the ignition. I assume there is a simply way change? thanks

is it a aftermarket radio? if so, the previous owner probably attached the "ignition" wire to a straight 12v line .

German cars are really strange when it comes to wiring. I can have my keys out of the ignition on my 00 A4 and push the power button in to turn on the radio. it does in fact come on even if the keys are not in the ignition. As far as I know, Audi and VW both are wired constant. just make sure you turn the power to the radio off so you don't kill the battery. Somone please correct me if I am wrong. This is normal and it's nothing to worry about.

My radio does this in my 2005 A4. I can turn the radio on even when the keys are not in the ignition. I kind of like this feature.

However, the radio does turn off when I turn the car off.

Yeah, mine does the same. With the keys out of the ignition, just push the volume button in and the radio should come on. I also like this feature.
