Default Safety Issue, PLEASE HELP

Ihadmy well deserved5 days off, so I drove my car around quite a bit.
First night, I was in Auburn going on 49 and on the dark road i notice when i hit the brakes there is no light to make the little yellow markers behind the carturn red on the freeway like they used to whenI was driving a mustang. I stopped and I had my girlfriend hit the brakes...nothing... just the regular intensity red that turns on with the low beams. On my way home the cruise control was not working either so i had to hold the pedal myself for2 hours, that hurt. As i get home i turn off the engine and still no result. I turn the engine on, and turn off the heater, they worked, cruise control too... Ever since i would be standing at a stop light at nightat the carbehind me, hit the brakes, and i see the reflection once, twice, three times and then it stops working, pretty random.
The SERVICE! thing shows up on my screen every time i turn on my car, and as i press the left button by the screen, first thing it says:
"BRAKE LIGHTS" and this sign under it, looks like an
oil pressure sign and it's red on the screen,
then it goes to battery, washer fluid and so on with nothing red under. i should take a picture just forgot to do it...
I know this is a long post, but i just want to be as detailed as possible so someone can give me an idea of what I should do.
Thanks a lot!!!

how long have you owned this?

The service! light indicator means the car is due for its normal maintanance - do not skip it. Your brake lights could just be bad bulbs, but I cant really understand exactly what you wrote.

The washer fluid battery thing when you press the left button is a self diagnostic, i think. it too is normal, as my car does it.

Check your fuses and do an oil change.
Then you can reset the service interval. Instructions for this are in the manual, I don't remember them right now (just woke up gimmie a break).

It's not only one bulb, andI checked the fuses...I know the diagnostic part with the washer fluid indicator and so on, I'm worried about what it says before the washer fluid sign.
I owned it for 2 weeks. I don't have a manual, so if someone could take a look atIT(manual) and tell me what :
BRAKE LIGHTS(on top)and the
OIL PRESURE SIGN(under)means on the little red display between the rpms and speed guage, it could save my life... thanks.
Iwill take a picture on monday and post it, probably with a new thread[>:](same subject)...

unless im mistaken, you said those showed up when you pressed the left button - that is normal because you ran the self diagnostic as far as i know. My car does exactly the same thing, so either I am sitting in a bomb, or its a self-test.

The service! light reset is the easy thing, but dont reset it without actually having the service performed. (I held in both buttons when I turned the car on - it let me reset it. The available instructions were to only hold in one button and that did not do it.)

I'm guessing its something minor. Do a search and check for the brake light relay switch. Its around the brake pedal i think, and I recall reading about it somewhere (so it was either on the forums as a semi-common problem, or was a TSB). At least its a place to start.

i have no idea. You might want to test the switch to make sure it works. I wouldnt replace stuff that isnt bad. I am just tossing ideas out there.

As for the oil light - I've never had a warning come up on that center display other than service and diagnostics - only on my gauges where my MPH are. For starters, check /change your oil?
