Default Tires...

Can anyone recommend new tires for a '02 A6Q4.2 with 17" wheels? I bought the carin December with Continental ContiExtremeContactsbut they are readyto get tossed. I already replaced one, but I intend on saving that for the spare wheel.

I live in NC and the winters aren't sloppy, with the exception of once or twice a year. Summers can be hot to terribly hot and the humidity is usually high rather than low. I want performance, but I need to know if Extreme Performance Summer tires will last all year round in this climate.Another idea is to get All-Season tires for now on the stock 5-spoke rims and in a year or so pick up entirely new wheels/tires for the summer.

My local Audi/Volks/Porsche specific indy guy informed me that he sees Audis gothroughenough setsof tiresto getsomething good, yet inexpensive. I'm inquiring here to get a second opinion and see what the mainstream A6 driver seems to be using.

TIA,
Paul

Performance Tires - Goodyear D3s
All-Season - Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S
Winter - Dunlop M3s.

Since I live in NY I can't help you withclimate needs, but theseare my choices for my 05 4.2.
