As many of you know, older Audis seem to be plagued by electrical and electronic problems. At times my instrument cluster does strange things; like showing a series of scrambled lines in place of the radio setting or lights dimmed halfway around the speedometer or crazy miles per gallon readings of 150 miles per gallon. But all is fine the next time the car is started. The craziness seems to come and go. Recently I have detected a rapid clicking sound which seems to be coming from under the dash. This sounds to me like a relay switch opening and closing but, it doesn't seem to affect the running of the car and doesn't occur when the instrument cluster is acting up. Has anyone had similiar experiences?

I feel your pain.
I have been plague by similar Total Electronic failure since I changed my Aletrnator.
Everyone from Audi dealer, Bosch (the Electronics expert) and the local garage can't seem to find the problem.
