Default Can you help me?

Hey,
I am the kind of person who loves all cars especially the s4 and takes great care of his cars but i have a tough decision to make. I have the opportunity of buying a used s4 probably with 50k miles plus or minus 10k in great condition or a new Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner with the Off Road Package. I know this may be a stupid question but I want to know why choosing the s4 would be better for me, an upcoming college freshman. I love the s4 and everything about it and have always loved them. Someone in my community drove a blue one and when I would see it, my jaw would drop. But the dilemma I am having is the fact that will the s4 be good for me in college? My friends tell me that the Tacoma is more practical and it would be easier for me to do things with the tacoma because I could drive through dirt and bumpy roads and i could throw stuff in the bed of the truck like a bike or ATV. I could even throw a BBQ in the back for a tailgate...I dont know what to do!!! The truck is nice but i really like the s4 and i dont know which one to choose. On top of that my friends say that because the truck would be brand new i would not have to worry about anything braking down on me for a while. I know they are completely different and the s4 would be a great ride but the s4 can not take me through dirt roads. I know all cars have tendencies to break down but will the s4 be giving me any major trouble soon? Is the s4 going to be less comfortable for me in college? If anyone has anything they would like to say to help me make my decision, please do.

Thank you for your help.

Being that your in college, or going to be in college, you will need to move your stuff to/from the dorms every year, you will not necessarily have a garage or tools available to you... nor perhaps the money to drop a couple grand anytime anything comes up. I would probably go the truck route if I were you. I have a new Jeep Grand Cherokee under warranty as a daily driver and the S4 is for fun.

I love the Audi, but I’m being logical in the sense that you may not have discretionary income, and needs to be ultra reliable.

Buddy I wish I could Tell you why you should buy a Audi S4 but at the end of the day you will need to make the decision due to the fact that you will be turning the key and driving the vehicle that you choose !! ( I made my decision I bought a truck and m S4 as a day by day driver ! ) another thing dont buy a vehicle your friends want you to buy ! buy a vehicle you want to use ! Good luck with your decision ! I'll see you in the mud or on the track ! lol ,Mark

Thanks a lot for your reply.
If you do not mind I have some other questions like how reliable is the s4?....saying i get one with 60k miles already on it will i be running into any problems with it any time soon (besides sparkplugs, oil change/filter, etc). Is the turbo gonna break on me? Pretty much the question is how reliable are these s4 vehicles, since i have never owned one i would not know.

Thanks alot

I'm a sophmore in College and live an hour away from home. I went with an S4 since EVERYONE is surprised by how nice it is (not to mention how their jaws drop after giving them a ride in it). I've even had some people telling me I could beat corvettes in it, I just chuckle whenever I hear them say that since I know I'd get killed in a race. I would get the S4, and I would learn how to wrench. Because knowing how to work with tools saves a lot of money on these cars. I had a truck in HS and loved it, but quickly grew tired of it since I never off roaded it cause I wanted to keep it nice. So I moved on to a car. And I second the ***** claim. I mean its an Audi, and it goes vroom. Thats what girls like lol jk. All in all, it is up to you and what you fancy. If its off roading then I would go with the truck. But if you stick to the paved roads then Definitely go with an S4, B5 of course. And don't forget, they have AWD, so they can handle SOME snow running, but nothing intense.
