View Full Version : Do you TT?
jamez 12-12-2003, 09:43 PM I know there must be someone out there. The number of hits on my last post shows that someone is looking.
I am now the proud owner of a new 2004 TT 3.2 Roadster. All I can say is wow. That's not really all. If you wish to know more or have a question, comment, insult, or whatever, please do so.
Firestarter1984 12-16-2003, 03:09 AM is it a VR configuration or a wide angle engine?
SlimChriz 12-16-2003, 04:26 AM taken any pictures yet?
Palindari™ 11-21-2006, 10:30 PM lol... I dredged this up from the past - but what in the hell's the wide angle engine??
TTsteve 11-21-2006, 10:36 PM The 3.2 isnt turbo is it? And is it really faster than a chipped 225? And can you mod it as much as a turbo TT?
achTTung 11-22-2006, 12:17 AM wide angle, like a boxer engine? Thats pretty wide.
aussiett 11-22-2006, 12:51 AM Belated welcome jamez and congratulations on you new ride. Very nice.
My wife has the 2WD TT and just loves it, having had Hondas for the previous 21 years.
Me? well for my use I go for the top spec'ed model so I applaud your decision to get the 3.2.
achTTung 11-22-2006, 03:39 AM aussie, palindari revived this thread from 2003. I don't think his ride is too new anymore ; )

janez didn't hang around much it seems :(
achTTung 11-22-2006, 04:04 AM i would have done the same thing except palendaris post was the last one, and mentioned digging up this thread.
Palindari™ 11-22-2006, 06:09 AM lol... no worries - threw everyone a curve it seems - but still - what in the hell is the wide angle engine or VR configuration to which they speak of??? Inquiring minds want to know... [sm=insomnia.gif]
achTTung 11-22-2006, 06:44 AM VR6 engine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The VR6 engine is a configuration developed by the Volkswagen Group. It is similar to the V engine, but with the cylinders offset from each other and tilted by 10.6° or 15° instead of the more common 45°, 60°, or 90°.
The name VR6 comes from a combination of V engine (German: V-Motor) and the German word Reihenmotor (straight engine). The combination of the two can be roughly translated as "inline V6 engine".
Palindari™ 11-22-2006, 03:17 PM Fascinating... I've always marvelled at what the guys at Volkswagon come up with - wonder how the "W" engine is holding up? Didn't that thing have 10 cylinders on it - or was it 12?
Thanks Achttung! Off to Wikipedia I go... [8D]
bmwtoaudi 11-22-2006, 03:25 PM the W12 engine, is a 12 cyl. It is basicly two inline sixs side by side...literally...they are amazing imo.
however im wondering does the inline six you guys are talking about come with a turbo system? ...that with a twin trubo...or even a standard turbo would be crazy.

MeanAudiA6 11-22-2006, 03:29 PM no the 3.2 tt is not faster than a stock 225 by any means. and if the 225 is chipped it will be saying SEE_YA to the stock 3.2 there are not nearly as many mods for the 3.2 as there are for the 180 and 225, but i'm sure they are coming. Considering it took almost 6 years for us 225 owners to get a 3in downpipe without having to spend the crazy amount for the apr system, and this one you can swap out the test pipe for track days and put the cat back in for daily use. AWESOME
aussiett 11-22-2006, 07:52 PM I just read an article here in the local press about the new TT. In Australia we will be getting only the 2.0 litre 2WD and the 3.2 AWD. They are quoting the same 6.4 seconds 0 - 100 kph for both.
bvgoosedd 11-24-2006, 05:51 PM where can u get a 3in downpipe, for the 225, without having to spend the crazy amount for the apr system???? i wanna know.
