Toyo are too soft tires, for my opinion.

blah the goodyears are insanly high priced. the toyo proxes 4 is sorta soft... but look at the tread wear #'s. the toyo T1S would be worth the extra money over the proxes 4... I think the T1S resembes the GSD 3's, though im not entirely sure.

the 9090's are stupid... they are noisy and crap. as tread gets lower, noise gets annoying. they were OEM though, OEM have a way of being not worth the $.

The T1S is my favourite right now... but if you can score firestone firehawk SZ50's, or SZ50EP (extended performance), buy them! They are discontinued, and if you can find 'em, they'll probably be cheap. I can get 225/45/17's up here for 179 CDN a tire right now (they list for about 600). The firehawks are better than anything I've used... pilots, potenza's, GSD's. MMM they are great. I swear I've mentioned the sz50 in like 5 posts now... lol, i cant say enough good things about them!

but yes, when your buying tires... you have to ask yourself what kind of driving you do. if you need high performance, then you'll probably have to sacrafice and get a noisy tire, and will definately have a lower treadwear... if you drive your car fairly lightly most of the time, look for something with high tread wear (300+). My biggest concerns for a tire right now, are treadwear, and noise. (hydroplaning resistance as well -- but all the tires you asked about are pretty good in that dept, all summer tires are).

all around best: FIREHAWK SZ50EP - good treadwear, low noise, and my god... are they insanely good in wet weather.
