View Full Version : Factory looking boost gauge
cbehr 02-03-2008, 10:11 PM Would like to install a boost gauge, any good factory looking spots? I know there is a kit that mounts on the top of the steering column but I'm very tall and need the steering wheel at the highest position....so I think this spot may be in my way.

rhynolite 02-04-2008, 01:18 AM I went the cheap route and bought myself a SunPro gauge and some other small bits and bobs at Pep Boys for around $70 and installed everything myself into my center vent. Took 4 hours from driving to Pep Boys to having the gauge look like this installed:

center vent or podi to answer your Q
x2.
Podi if you want an OCDx10000 Audi owner/creator, AWE if you have a B5 and don't want to wait for the Podi to be released.
Dakota, we should copy that picture of his car and you can make it your sig... HDR ftw.

Hurry the hell up and slam it then so these girls can be sisters! [8D]
I don't understand why people would pay $250 for this same stuff when they could just piece it together from the list of supplies that AWE gives you on their website (or used to, too lazy to check).
qUaTtRoA4 02-04-2008, 11:33 PM It'll be slammed in the next month....as long as bank of america doesn't spend my savings!

looks good but i would be cold in this weather ;p
cbehr 02-05-2008, 01:26 PM I like that on the drive side, any more info on what you guys needed for the install. I do like mount on top of the steering wheel but am afraid it would be annoying or blocking view, any comments from owners?

that was my main reason for not getting a PODi, i thought it would bother the hell out of me, but its the best looking gauge for the $ (expensive yes, but its high quality and perfectly replaces the OEM piece, it doesnt glue or tape down)
my rational was when the hell do i need to know if im going under 20 mph? i dont.... and you know what, the Podi has not only never ever bothered or annoyed me but i love it! and im very very particular with my car. you will not regret it i promise you that...
its great to make your own shit but you arent modding a honda... i have a pic of mine in my gallery but i took it way too low, it doesnt block that much of the gauge from the drivers view and there is an awesome new digital gauge available now, i just ordered it to replace my needle gauge...
cbehr 02-05-2008, 01:37 PM Let me know if you're selling your gauge now that you're going digital :) I do like the digital's but again wasn't sure about it being distracting. Think I'll give the podi a shot.
Papachristou 02-05-2008, 02:10 PM sure, it should be in this week... ill let u know
the PODi gauge is really nice, its an ormoi or something i think but i want to try the digital and see which i like better...
01afour 02-05-2008, 02:37 PM i have mine in that little circle vent above the drivers vent. it was orginally a pillar mount i bough from my friend and i just cut it down to fit along w/ the dash. sorry i dont have pics tho.
*and now that i think of it its not to factory lookin either.
cbehr 02-07-2008, 04:06 PM Anyone have the ECS column mount, it's in the middle instead of off to the right like the podi?
Papachristou 02-07-2008, 04:40 PM ECS is a knockoff of the PODI and blocks most of your center MFA display [sm=smiley21.gif]
plus ECS service is terrible! Winston (maker of Podi) sent me a new three way piece for the install after i broke mine!

assegai 02-07-2008, 07:36 PM I don't think this will really block much but it def looks the best out of all the gauges.
