Hey i've had my 2006 a4 for a while now but i was wondering what you all think is the quickest way to accelerate. Should i put it in Sport and then just floor it, or maybe at first slowly accelerate then floor it. Maybe i should use tiptronic? This is all for trying to accelerate the fastest

Hit the gas. Doesnt really matter where you put the shift lever. At wide open throttle they all shift the same. You may be able to sligly increase times by playing with shift points via tiptronic but dont expect too much.

push the gas all the way down till you reach the speed you want
computer knows the power band of your car and will shift at the right times to keep you in it...

the long skinny pedal on the right will do the job. make sure to use your foot, not your hand.

i think most people think horsepower helps but this is the wrong way to get it:

Which is faster tiptronic or sport? Sport seems faster to me but i rarely use tiptronic so.
And when you floor the car it takes like a half a second to a second to start even moving at all i'm guessing because of the turbo..thats why i was asking should i push it down a little to get it going and then floor it.

I find Tip mode to be better, s-mode upshifts past 6k rpm where it's already flat. In tip mode, I shift around 5400.
Keep in mind though, when driving in D-mode, your car will shift to 2nd waaaaay too early making your car act like it's lagging when it's not.

I agree with SoCalJoe. Pangus, if you want the fastest acceleration, get a 6 speed manual. Tip is a half second slower to 60 and will never come off the line as well either. There is a Tip chip available too, but I have not driven one to compare. We may not have the fastest stop light dragsters, but they are quite comfortable over a hundred mph.

I believe the tip chip is only available for the B5's
