I did a search online and on the forum and I think I only got more confused. Looking for an HID upgrade for a 2006 A4. I'm not sure if I should upgrade fog lamps, low beams, high beams, or all of them. I was hoping to spend as little as possible while still not getting a POS upgrade. Any suggestions on what to upgrade and the brand / model to do it with would be great.

not really any reason to upgrade the high beams unless you really want to piss people off. fogs are up to you, making them match the headlights looks nicer IMO. low beams is the main one you'd want to upgrade

Makes sense. What are some good brands to look into for upgrades?

i went with VVME just cause they're soooo much cheaper its hard to pass up. a couple people have had problems (which is reasonable considering they are shipped from china) and the company doesn't have the best customer support, but most people are very happy with theirs so i figured it was worth the small risk

Wow, not a bad price at all. On the website they have two models, a single beam and bi-xeon ( http://www.vvme.com/catalog/list-s-10145-10146.html ). Which would be the correct model for the A4? Also, any other brands worth looking at?

for your stock headlights, you'd want just the single beam. and if you go through their ebay store you can knock like 10 bucks off their store price. i have no experience with the other companies, but someone else should be able to chime in

I just got my vvme kit yesterday. I haven't installed it yet but the quality seems decent and I've heard people say they bought more expensive kits and got the exact same ballasts. So I would say vvme is worth looking into. Pay with Paypal though because the first time I tried to buy from them the package never got delivered and Paypal reimbursed me.

Its such a cheap price compared to the other brands I've seen that I think I could probably replace it 2 or 3 times for the same price as one of the more expensive kits. What exactly is the difference between the single and bi kits? If I'm going to upgrade, I'd like to upgrade both the low and high beams. I kind of live in the middle of nowhere and I'm usually the only car on the road, and drive with the high beams on to prevent hitting any animals, etc. Would I just purchase two of the single kits to upgrade both the low and high beams?

Good luck with VVME! I bought 6 kits, and 1 of them is DOA. Still disputing with them right now about it.

Now with that being said, if everything works out of the box, then it's a killer deal. My thinking is that if it works for 12-months, then I've gotten my money's worth and i'm willing to purchase another kit if need be as a replacement (wear and tear item). However, that one set is DOA and has NEVER worked properly. It's been a royal PIA dealing with VVME.

I'm going to just put it on my AMEX and if I have any trouble with it, file a chargeback.

Anyone know about my above question, with the single and bi kits?

Does this work with 04's as well? How would you get the fogs to match?

I don't believe you can do a chargeback with AMEX and paypal.

Check out that other thread about VVME. The person that started it tried a charge back but it didn't work.

I've done chargebacks with me AMEX both when I've used it with PayPal as well as when I've purchased from in country and even out of country. I don't think there is anything AMEX won't reverse a charge on. I couldn't find the threat that you referenced, but I'd be surprised if the guy got stuck with the charge.

Thanks, that's sweet. So it's just 80$ in change for the whole setup plus installation? What's the popular brightness for the main lights and fogs?

Stupid question but why the $80+ set and not the $40. I don't understand the difference.

And it seems a personal choice for bulbcolor but what model do the b7's need. Is it in the manual somewhere or do you have to take out the originals to find out?
