I have had my A5 for one week, so this is all very preliminary. I came from a BMW 545i. I test drove the S5 and fell in love, but with two kids in college, I could not justify the extra $.
Anyway, so far it has been a blast to drive. I love this car. It has snowed three times this past week and I find myself looking for places that haven't been plowed just for fun. The 545 was all but undriveable in the snow.
The interior is a treat compared to my old car. My wife drives an allraod with a six speed, so there was a already a familiar feel to the interior and the shifter. The MMI is very easy to use and the ipod adapter is so cool. The 3.2 is surprisingly powerful, but I don't know if I would feel the same if it had an automatic. I never got the hang of driving automatics, so that might be an unfair criticism. I wish it sounded more like the S which has the finest exhaust note I have heard in a long time. Maybe some aftermarket pipes will help. One thing for sure, the steering is much lighter than the Bimmer's; but, that is not a criticsm. The Audi is eminently more driveable.
Once they fix all the potholes around here and I get a chance to really open it up a few times, I will report on how it feels at high speed.
