ToyGuy Short Shift linkage Config
hello guys, well after long debates about doing a short shifter or not, i finally just gave in becuase i had the slop and vibrations in my shifer. I succesfully recreated the ToyGuy short shifter from his DIY. but one thing i forgot to do was mark the positions of the shiftr to the two linkages. Does anybody have an explanation of the two linkage bolts. one slides the shifter foward and backward and one changes how the shifter grabs the transmission linkage. How should i configure them so i can have the smoothest transitions?
right now its a little rough in gear 1 and 2. it feels as if there is something blocking when its ALL that way to the left.
pictures would be helpful
thanks guys.

just an idea, but i would loosen the two bolts, shift the car into first and second gear, make sure you are actually in 1st/2nd gear, and then see what direction the stift box moved, and then tighten it while it is in first or second gear... then see how it is.

thanks Shawn,
but you can't really engage any gear with the bolts loosened. the linkage just moves around, well anyways after like and hour and a half. i got it. The screw on the bottom arrow is just for personal preference. You are able to move the shifter forward and backward however you would like. Then the screw on the top arrow is the pain in the ***. you need to move around and do multiple trials loosening and tightening( I am talking millimeters ). Well then i found a position in which all the gears would engage in, but it was very rough. then i found out that when you loosen the bolt you can slightly grab hold of the shifter and rotate it left and right so that gears 1 and 2 engage easy also with 5 and 6. if you are off center then 5 and 6 will engage but 1 and 2 will be impossible to put into gear.
