Default What do you think of this 2001 AUDI 1.8t?

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/car/617732173.html ----$7,000----

I am looking to replace my totaled 1999.5 audi a4 2.8qm. I have been looking around for a 1.8t and found this. The owner is a fellow audi enthusiast and has made a few upgrades. Let me know what you think, all help is appreciated. Thanks

Doesn't look bad. First thing to do would be to paint the rest of the lower door moldings to flow withthe front bumper. I'd say go take a look in person and have it inspected.

I would say the first thing to do is to get a new euro plate...even if you are latino...

Just remove the Euro plate, and paint the lowers asap.

Anyway, I would have no problem paying the 8,500 for that if he took as great of care as he says and has proof as did the original owner. So if you can get that car for $7000 as you posted, I would definitely be interested. Give him a call and inspect the car.. or if you're not sure what to look for, get it inspected if possible.

Painting the lowers your self shouldn't be that difficult, there's a write up on here somewhere. The center caps are missing on the wheels, the bumper isn't OEM but is styled after the RS4. True OEM RS4s are widebody and to do a true conversion is pretty pricey.

Those wheels are the stock OEM 17s for the '01 model year witht the sport package. Nice wheels, but not aftermarket. Also the HyperGunMetal finish looks exactly like the graphite wheel paint that I have mine painted. So, BS on the $700 wheel thing.
Other than the wheel fiasco, car looks great and the price is right! Check for dead pixel lines in the dash, though. Those can be bothersome.
