Hey guys, ive been looking at a 1990 coupe quattro for a while now. and I've test driven it a few times and im to the point of, if i can sell my old car, im buying this one. But I dont know much about this model.
All that I really know is the following:
its gotThe 20v N/A 2.3 liter 5 cylindermotor. its about 170 or so horsepower and i think 160 torque. Dont quote me on that.
Its got about 110,000 miles on it.
the people that own it are an old couple, and the husband use to own a german car repair shop... so its in pretty good shape..
hes asking about $5000 but he hasnt sold it for like 6 months...

now my question...
Whats known to fail on the coupe? if anything..
And what kinda mods are there for this? cause I dont think they make turbo kits for this motor, and i remember somewhere somebody said The N/A 20v can get about 250 HP max. but dont quote me on that...
I Checked 2bennett and they didnt really have that much that i could see that helped with power.

the coupe is the car ive always wanted but theyre so rare I didnt think i could actually find one

I dropped that idea because the guy wouldnt drop the price AT ALL.

 

1990 Coupes are rare. Very rare. I'm not surprised the gentleman refused to drop the asking price. You just weren't the right customer to appreciate that car. Is it in California?
