Default S4 badge type, placement, and install questions

I just removed the S4 badge off the rear of my 2000 because it was on very crooked (for whatever reason). My main question is how do I know where exactly to put it back on. I want it to look like stock. Next ?, what to use to stick it on there. What ever was on there before was perfect because it was strong, but when I took the badge off (dental floss), there were no marks on the car, just some residue. It would aslo seem the the back of the badge is recessed a little so it almost looks like some kind of epoxy or something was used to "fill it up" and make it stick. Any ideas? Also this is the badge that came off my 2000
what is the difference between that and this other badge?

Thanks for the info on the different badges. There is a thread that asks the exact same question (started 4hours after mine but has 2 replies : P) that explains the differences more in depth. But I am more interested in my other questions, exact placement and method of attachment. Please any help, my trunk looks naked (not in the good way)

Find another 2000-2001 S4 with that badge and measure where it goes.. I think if it's off by 1/8" it's not going to matter too much, yuo know!
I kind of like the newer badge better, but my old style is where it started!

I like my old one.

Mizzike- I will take some measurements if you want as in how far down from the top of the trunk and how far from the left of the trunk curve, that should put you in the right place.

Not too shoot you down or anything ops but I would measure up from the bottom of the trunk lid, more of a fixed line. The top can be diffrent between two people baceusethe trunk lidroles down you know, just thought id throw my 2cents in

Not in any hurry, but any measurements would be appriciated. One of the reasons I got the S4 was because I don't know anyone with one and theres not too many around here. Also someone must know what the reccomended adhesive is for the badges? Something strong but removeable?

gorilla glue--very strong, no need to remove it!
