Question 35,000 mile service

I have my 35,000 mile service scheduled for next week on my 2008 A3 2.0 (manual trans.) at the dealer in Danbury, CT. I was just wondering what others have paid for this.

My A3 3.2 '06 got replaced the fluids and gasket on the Haldex clutch, new spark plugs on the engine, only the DSG oil was not changed, I should get that one done on my next service, in about 3 months or so, just before the warranty expires. No cost at all. Wondering whether the free maintenance was no longer available for '08s.

Free mainteance did not come with my car ( I turned down "Audicare" for $500).

I had the 35,000 maintenance done yesterday. Cost: $250.

Default 35000 mile service

Well thats not too bad. Better then like 300 something. Just check the service manual. You still have it?

Not too bad, with a DSG, oil change is required at 35k, which would have been real expensive.

Cool Watch out for service salesmen!

On the day-Whatever your service "quote" is beware being sold air con service, brake fluid change, vac/wax/wash as extras. Also stand by to be offered a pay "up front" 3 year service plan and next year when the vehicle comes out of guarantee an extended warranty.
Yes--it's true--an almighty thump of unquoted extras!..you have been warned!!

Brake fluid should be changed every two years, regardless of mileage. That's not just a way to pad the service bill - it's a very good recommendation.

This is an old post, but it was free on my 2007, except I had to pay for the brake fluid, about $50 The extended warranty quote was about $3500 from the dealer.

I had my 35k service done (with only 20k miles), they did the 7 quarts Engine/ 7 quarts DSG/ 2 quarts Haldex oil and filter. Parts would be $556 MSRP and around 2.5 hr labor (at $125/hr), that would have been around $850.

The Sched Maint checklist does have a checkbox for brake fluid change (every 2 yrs), but it was not part of free sched maint.

I'm going in for my 35k tomorrow, except I've been fairly busy and am now at 36k... am I going to get yelled at for being bad??? no, but seriously, are they going to give me crap about voiding my warranty?
